Here’s a list of all the big cats visited:

Siberian Tiger (Panthera tigris altaica) Snow Leopard (Uncia uncia) Jaguar (Panthera onca) Cougar (Puma concolor) Lion (Panthera leo) Caracal (Caracal caracal) [...]]]> Went to the zoo today and tried to visit all of the animals in the Metro Toronto Zoo that belongs to the cat family (Felidae). I think that’s all the big cats in the Toronto Zoo, let me know if I missed any. Took nearly all day to visit all the cats. Unfortunately wasn’t really able to get a good photo for most of them. So here’s what I’ve got for the day.

Well I let the photos [...]]]> Today right around lunch time at the zoo, the Sumatran Tigers found a few juicy steaks in their enclosure. They were overjoyed with the sight of fresh flesh and I was able to capture some photos that normally I wouldn’t be able to in the zoo, namely tigers actually feeding. Well I let the photos speak for themselves.

The images after this one is graphical, but at least it was just a big steak nothing more.

They [...]]]> July 10, 2004 is the 1 year birthday for the 3 Sumatran tigers (Kougra , Chelsea, and Skylar) at the Metro Toronto Zoo. I was there during the birthday celebration and here’s a few shot from the birthday party.

The keepers brings in the specially made birth day “cake” for the 3 birthday boy/girl. They set up these “cakes” for the cubs. The “cakes” are made of frozen blood, meat, and bones. Full of healthy ingredients for our growing little fellows.

Now this year the most exciting thing is obviously the birth of two Siberian Tiger cubs. However, these other predators deserves some air time as well.

These are Arctic Wolfs, distinguished from the Gray Wolf by their year round white coat and shorter snort and ears.
