So 3 days later I was there visiting the Sumatran Tiger cubs again for the past two days. So here’s some more tiger cub goodness all provided by Chelsea, Skylar and Kougra as well as their mother Brytne. Big news! Three little Sumatran Tiger cub was born from mom Brytne and dad Rengat. They debuted to the public on October 16, 2003 and I was there 4 days later to take photos. These are the first Sumatran Tiger cubs born in Canada while in the wild there may be as few as 400 remaining. Here’s a shot of all three tiger cubs – from the left Chelsea (female), Skylar (female) and Kougra (male). Just a clean up of a bunch of animals that I have taken at the zoo for the past 6 months or so but never got posted. This was taken on March 2003. The snow is still covering the ground. Chipmunks are search for food. I guess I startled him a bit as he soon runs away after I got the shot on the right. Here’s a bunch of birds that I photographed at the zoo. Some are common wild birds while some are zoo birds. To the left is a Canada Goose taking care of her eggs. This goose is nesting in the middle of a pond in the zoo. To the right, a Canada Goose swimming on a creek. This is Inukshuk, a polar bear cub rescued from hunters by police after his mother was killed by hunter near Fort Severn. He now finds his temporary home in the Toronto Zoo. I first visited Inukshuk in May 2003 right after he is put on display. |
